Ragging is a crime and this crime is always discarded by SEC. We aim that SEC must be protected with zero tolerance towards ragging and must be a ragging free campus. We have our professional counsellors who help in counselling, discouraging students to be involved in such heinous campus crime and over all on a mission to curb the menace on campus.
We strictly follow the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP No. 24295 of 2006 dated 16-05-2007 and in Civil Appeal number 887 of 2009, dated 08-05-2009 and the Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 as well as we have our own guidelines for punitive measures for ragging activities.
This cell closely monitors all the campus ragging related activities by forming anti-ragging squad, anti-ragging cell and ensure adequate publicity for measures initiated through various media. We clearly mention anti-ragging warnings in our prospectus and information booklets or brochures. We have installed CCTV cameras at vital points and in class rooms too. We conduct anti-ragging workshops, seminars and other creative avenues to spread the idea

About SEC has its grievance readrsseal cell. At present the cell comprises 6 members along with Chairman as its head. There shall be grievance redressal cell at SEC. This committee is responsible for dealing with all the grievances related to technical, academic and administrative glitches and problems including sexual harassment at SEC. We are committed to maintain transparency in the entire process of addressing any issues. The major concern of this cell is to solve students related to examinations and other academic activities. We attempt to monitor the queries, grievances, and other academic matters of students, teachers, and institutions at our best. SEC wants a discipline as well as friendly atmosphere. The cell works under the guidelines of our service books. In some cases where the impact of grievance is much we take the help of law of Government of India.
• The Grievance Readrsseal Cell shall give publicity among staffs and students.
• Convenor of this cell shall maintain the documentation of grievances.
• The committee must follow the neutral justice by hearing all concerned parties.
• The Committee members must prepare the minute of the meeting and action taken report.
• The committee shall prepare a record and report to the chairman of SEC.

In keeping with the Supreme Court guidelines, SEC established ICC against sexual harassment and atrocities against women at the workplace. SEC advocates gender equality. We are determined to make sure that the women on our campus are safe and have a healthy environment. In order to achieve this we have formed a gender development cell for institutionalizing the best practices and standard operating procedures which will deal with issues related to women inside the campuses.
Internal Complaint Committee sensitises the female faculty members and students on the prevention and prohibition of sexual harassment of woman at work place. According the Supreme Court’s order, Sexual Harassment is any unwelcome:
• Physical contact and advances.
• Demand or request for sexual favors.
• Sexually coloured remarks.
• Display of pornographic content in any form.
• Any other unwelcome physical, verbal and non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.
The Internal Complaint Committee for Women Employees & Studentsof SEC follow section 4 All India Council for Technical Education Regulations, 2016 vide no. F AICTE/WH/2016 (Gender sensitization, prevention and prohibition of sexual harassment of women employees and students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions), Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) has been formed in SEC to prevent sexual harassment of woman at work place and to curb down the sexual harassment in campus. Apart from monitoring gender-based violence and we also conduct awareness to gender sensitization, workshops and seminars on making people aware of the laws against sexual harassment of women at the workplace address gender pay gap and programmes for all the female students and faculty members on the campus to avail a safe and secure atmosphere Also we provide registration provisions for grievances related to women and sexual harassment complaints on the Student Grievance Redressal cell in our campus.The authorities and committees of SEC treat sexual harassment as misconduct in our service rules and initiate action for such misconduct. The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Committee is formed in SEC to endorse the distinct interests of students in the reserved category. The committee is designed to help in areas where students experience difficulties. The Committee organizes interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems. The committee safeguards equality among all the staff and students.The actions are done by counselling and sensitizing the stakeholders to optimally utilise the benefits of the schemes offered by the Government of India.
